What is the Shopify App Detector?
The Shopify App Detector is a free way to find Shopify apps on a store. Paste a URL and it names the apps a shopper's browser actually loads: reviews, upsells, email, chat, subscriptions, loyalty and the rest of the storefront stack.
Use it when you want to know what apps this Shopify store uses, whether that store is a competitor, a client, or your own. It also works as a Shopify app checker for agencies auditing a stack before a project.
No sign-up. No install. A custom domain or a myshopify.com URL both work.
Why merchants check a store's apps
The stack is visible if you know where to look. Most people don't, so they guess.
See the competitor stack
Stop guessing which reviews, email and upsell apps a store that outsells you is running.
Spot overlapping apps
Two review apps or two popups usually means one of them is an invoice you can cancel.
App bloat slows the store
Every extra script is another request. The report counts third-party scripts and links to the speed test.
Find the revenue gaps
No delivery date, no chat and no upsells are the gaps that leave conversion and average order value on the table.
How to see what apps a Shopify store uses
Paste a store URL
Enter a custom domain or a myshopify.com address. No login and no app install.
We read the live storefront
We fetch the homepage, the public catalog and one product page, then match script hosts, theme app extensions and tracking pixels.
See the apps and the gaps
Get a list of the apps the store runs, grouped by job, plus the delivery, chat and upsell gaps that cost revenue.
What the detector can and can't see
Visible on the storefront
- Script hosts, such as Klaviyo, Gorgias, Rebuy and Yotpo
- Theme app extensions, such as Judge.me and Swym
- App tracking pixels, counted even when the name is not in the page
- The theme name, when Shopify.theme is published
Hidden from every public checker
- Admin-only apps: inventory, ERP, accounting, tax
- Apps that inject themselves only after extra JavaScript runs
- Headless storefronts, which often expose almost nothing
- Password-protected or development stores
Apps we detect
A storefront match against 109 named apps. Theme extensions we don't have a name for are still listed.

When the stack is missing the apps that make money
If a category is empty, the report says so and links to the LaunchTip app that fills it.
No estimated delivery date
24% of shoppers abandon when no estimated delivery date is shown. Delivery Timer adds a cut-off countdown and a clear arrival window on the product page.
See Delivery TimerNo chat or shopping assistant
Chatkit answers pre-sale questions, recommends products and tracks orders 24/7, then hands off to a person only when it has to.
See Chatkit on your productsNo upsells or add-ons
Relevant cross-sells and add-ons commonly lift average order value 10 to 30 percent. SellUp puts those offers on the product page, in the cart, and after checkout.
