How to disable order confirmation in Shopify settings

Shopify has its own email templates that can be modified to suit your brand and store. Before you think about disabling these email templates, we first suggest you look at amending them.

Currently, only two of the email notifications sent to customers from your Shopify store can be deactivated; Shipment out for delivery and Shipment delivered. This means that the Order confirmation email cannot be disabled.

Shopify email notifications are a way to keep your customers up to date with their order. They can also be sent to yourself so that you know a new order has been placed. With larger stores, this is probably not needed, as you’d be bombarded with emails all the time. You can edit your email notifications by going to Shopify Admin, then select Settings then Notifications.

Customising your Shopify email notifications

You can add your logo and colour palette to your email templates so that they’ll be easily recognised by your customers. If you do need more advanced email templates, you can ask a Shopify Expert to help. You’ll need to know intermediate HTML/CSS to customise your templates.

There are several apps available on the Shopify App store that could help personalise your emails further.
